Actually, I was working at a law firm and got laid off because they no longer needed me. I was five months pregnant when that happened. I didn’t expect to lose my job but that shit happens, and it sucks. I am not a mooch. I tried looking for another job. I went to classes, I applied to new places every day. But no one will hire someone who is pregnant. Why? Because I’m expendable. I would have to leave in a couple months anyway. I would lose my job, yet again.
I paid my dues and still do. And you’re trying to get to me but you aren’t. Everyone struggles at times. I’m not “mooching” off your money, I’m just trying to get by without ending up on the streets until I can start working at a law firm or something better again. Nothing wrong with that.
I am also still trying to pay off a couple years worth of medical bills on top of my medical bills for my pregnancy. I was extremely sick and had to go through extensive testing until finally I was able to get surgery….after over a year of trial and error.
There are lawyers who lose their jobs. Doctors, web programmers. People end up in debt because of medical bills. Schooling bills. Are they mooches too?
Is someone trying to take care of their family in a bad time of their life a mooch?
I grew up struggling. My mother struggled, my grandmother struggled. But now they make enough to live comfortably. Life isn’t easy but you being a sheltered teen, and I’m guessing teen by the way you articulate yourself, doesn’t make it any easier by attacking people who actually support themselves as much as they can.
